STAGING DEMO · ESTABLISHED 1934
Big Sur's first hotel and restaurant — featuring our iconic wooden river chairs, 20 guest rooms & suites, full-service restaurant, general store & burrito bar, and historic redwood grounds along Highway 1.
Established in 1934 as the Apple Pie Inn by Ellen Brown, the Big Sur River Inn was the very first hotel and restaurant in Big Sur—predating the opening of Highway 1. Nestled along the flowing waters of the Big Sur River surrounded by towering California redwoods, the Inn has welcomed generations of travelers to relax in wooden Adirondack chairs placed directly in the cool river, dine on the outdoor deck, and enjoy historic family hospitality.
